'Never missed a Super Bowl' member dies

MILWAUKEE - One of the men featured in a Visa credit cardtelevision commercial for having never missed a Super Bowl has diedat age 79.

Though he wasn't able to make it to Texas, Bob Cook watched fromhis Milwaukee area hospital bed as his beloved Green Bay Packersbeat the Pittsburgh Steelers to win the 45th Super Bowl earlier thismonth.

Cook's wife, Sarah Cook, said Monday that he died last week aftera blood infection and other chronic issues.

Cook and the three other members of the 'Never Missed a SuperBowl' club were the stars of the Visa ad leading up to the SuperBowl. The four attended all 44 Super Bowl games.

No indictment in NY player's shooting death

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - A grand jury determined Monday that a policeofficer did not commit a crime when he shot and killed a collegefootball player through the windshield of the student's car.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said jurorsfound 'no reasonable cause for an indictment' in the death of 20-year-old Danroy 'D.J.' Henry Jr., of Easton, Mass.

Henry's father, Danroy Henry Sr., who had demanded a murderindictment, alleged that evidence was 'withheld or mishandled'during the grand jury proceedings. He repeated his call for afederal investigation and said, 'There are no words to express ourdisappointment.'

No. 2 Kansas suffers setback at state rivals

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Jacob Pullen scored a career-high 38 points andKansas State shot 56 percent from the field Monday night in astunning 84-68 victory over Kansas, which moved to No. 1 just hoursearlier.

Pullen, a 6-foot senior who ranks in the top five in 17 careercategories for Kansas State, had 23 points in a take-charge firsthalf that propelled the Wildcats (17-9, 5-6 Big 12) to a nine-pointhalftime lead.

17th-ranked Orange snaps 3-game skid

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Brandon Triche had 20 points and Kris Josephadded 16 as Syracuse snapped a three-game losing streak at home.

The Orange (21-6, 8-6 Big East) hadn't lost four in a row at homesince 1962-63, four years before coach Jim Boeheim enrolled.

Woods apologizes after fine for spitting

VIRGINIA WATER, England - Tiger Woods apologized after he wasfined an undisclosed sum by the European Tour on Monday for spittingon the green during the final round of the Dubai Desert Classic.

The tour said in a statement that tournament director MikeStewart reviewed the matter and 'feels there has been a breach ofthe tour code of conduct.'
